After the winter, your skin often has a grey tinge, as if the season has taken the glow from your face. What you need is a new skincare routine to awaken your complexion and leave it radiant.

A few things you can do at home

Pollution, tobacco, stress, tiredness, lack of hydration, lack of exercise... Dull skin has many causes. To remedy the situation, you need to start drinking plenty of water for hydration. You can increase the radiance effect by drinking a glass of room temperature water with the juice of a lemon squeezed in as soon as you get up in the morning. Try massaging your skin with circular movements to boost the microcirculation. And if you have dark shadows under your eyes ; caused by lack of sleep ; try putting cold tea bags on top of them for 5 minutes before applying an eye cream to reduce puffiness.

Choose your cream and serum carefully

A great way to revive dull looking skin is to use a serum, which should leave you glowing. Apply to spotlessly clean, dry skin before using your day cream. Choose a serum containing fruit acids to exfoliate and eliminate dead skin cells to help your skin breathe again. If you have sensitive skin, go for a non-aggressive serum. Finally, hydrate with a day cream that's suited to your skin type to repair, energise and fight the signs of aging.

Choosing a scrub and a face mask

If you have the time, use a scrub and a face mask once or twice a week. To eliminate dead skin cells, choose a buffing scrub (enzymatic treatments are better for sensitive skins as they work by chemical reactions) or use a facial peel. For the best results, apply a face mask after your scrub : your pores will be clean and ready for the treatment.
